About Catamaran Ariki
Ariki is the most famous Tiki 26 catamaran, having starred in a popular YouTube channel dedicated to its construction, voyages, adventures, and maintenance. Over 80 videos documented every aspect of this remarkable vessel. Unfortunately, on July 4, 2024, YouTube unexpectedly deleted the channel, which had amassed 13,300 subscribers and over 6 million views.
While the full video archive is no longer available, you can still explore Ariki’s incredible journey on her dedicated website. The site features an extensive collection of articles, photos, and technical details. Current Condition of Ariki
- Electrical System: Minimalist setup with two active fuses (anchor light and signal lights), a 55W solar panel (2004), a brand-new 70Ah battery (2024), and newly installed wiring (2023).
- Sails: Main sail (15 m²), jib (10 m²), storm jib (2 m²), and floating parachute. All sails are in excellent condition and are well-preserved with protective covers.
- Trampolines: All three trampolines were newly installed in 2023.
- Dodger: A collapsible, full cockpit cover that provides protection from wind, water, and rain. Quick and easy to set up or remove.
- Awning: A large 5×2.5m awning covers the entire cockpit and both hulls.
- Anchors: Comes with two anchors – an 8kg Danforth with 10m chain and 10m rope, and a 19kg Manta with 20m chain and 40m rope.
Pending Repairs
The only maintenance required is a regular overhaul and fresh underwater coating (antifouling), which we perform every two years. Ariki will need to be on land for about a week for this process, and all necessary materials for the maintenance are already available. This is a great opportunity for the new owner to get acquainted with Ariki crew and learn how to properly care for her.
Aside from this routine maintenance, there are no hidden issues. Ariki was restored with the intention of keeping her, not selling. However, due to the loss of our YouTube income and a shift in our personal priorities, we are no longer able to dedicate the time and energy required to maintain her. We sincerely hope that she finds a new captain who will appreciate and cherish her as much as we have.
